Lacey Cops Foil Drug Deal, Arrest Three

Search of house, car turned up drugs after cops witnessed deal going down

Lacey Police detectives foiled a drug deal in progress and arrested three township residents during the Aug. 22 bust.

According to a statement by police, detectives witnessed a suspicious transaction on Clubhouse Drive in Forked River between a pedestrian and a vehicle. After the exchange, detectives approached the pedestrian, identified as 18-year-old Casey Sinopoli of Lanoka Harbor, and found him to be in possession of Oxycodone and heroin.

Officers then stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by its owner, Gregory Nelson, 31, and Nichole Post, 26, both of Buena Vista Road. Both were arrested, and a search of the vehicle turned up heroin and a gravity knife, the statement said.

A search of the pair's home yielded other narcotics including heroin, marijuana, and MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy or Molly, police said.

Sinopoli was charged with drug possession and transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Nelson and Post were also lodged in the Ocean County Jail after being charged with drug possession and distribution. Nelson, whose bail was set at $30,000, was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Post’s bail was set at $15,000.
