Lacey Citizens Can Now Report Some Crimes Online

Cops still looking for vehicle vandalism culprit

The Lacey Township Committee on Thursday reminded residents at their meeting that township residents can report certain crimes to the Lacey police online.

The new way of reporting some minor crimes comes as authorities continue to investigate a rash of late-night vandalism to vehicles.

"Many of these incidents go unreported," said Deputy Mayor Gary Quinn, adding to the importance of giving residents a convenient way to report such crimes.

Earlier this month, 16 vehicles were damaged in a single night, police said at the time. The Sept. 9 rash of vandalism came just two days after several vehicles were damaged in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor.

The Lacey police website accepts both anonymous tips – as well as the filing of formal reports for minor crimes such as criminal mischief.

No arrests have been made in the vehicle vandalism outbreak, according to officials.

The department's anonymous tip form and crime reporting form are both available at the its website.
