Lacey, Barnegat Residents Among Four Arrested In Heroin And Crack Investigation

One Lacey and two Barnegat residents have been arrested in connection with an investigation into drug activity in the Ocean County area, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced Tuesday.

On Tuesday, detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Southern Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of four people on various drug charges.

During the course of the investigation, fetectives from the Special Operations Group obtained a search warrant for 345 Hawthorne Lane, Apt. 2104 Barnegat.

Prior to executing the search warrant, detectives allegedly observed Larry J. Daniels, 26, of Barneget meeting with three individuals identified as Laura Mooney, 32 of Barnegat; Jonathan P. Locilento, 41, of Lanoka Harbor; and Steven G. Byk, 40, of East Windsor in a wooded area near his home.

Detectives then approached the three individuals who were found to possessing heroin

Members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team executed the search warrant on the residence. As a result, police seized approximately 125 individual dosage units of heroin along with approximately 10 grams of “crack” cocaine.

Daniels was located within the residence and was also arrested and charged.

Daniels was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin. Superior Court Judge Francis R. Hodgson set bail on Daniels at $100,000 no 10 percent.

Daniels was lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Mooney was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and distribution of geroin. Mooney was released on a summons.

Locilento was charged with possession of heroin and was released on a summons. Byk was charged with Possession of Heroin and was released on a summons.

Assisting in the investigation as well as the execution of the search warrant were members of the Barnegat Township Police Department, the Stafford Township Police Department and the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team.
