Jackson Police Arrest Forked River Man After Cache of Weapons, Hypodermic Needles Found In Car

Bail set at $75,000 for Clifford Creamer II

Jackson Township police recently arrested a Forked River man on numerous weapons and drug charges.

Clifford Creamer II, 26, was arrested the night of June 6, after officers responded to Albany Avenue in Jackson to reports of a suspicious red Mazda Hatchback parked in the area with two occupants inside, according to a press release from the Jackson Police Department.

The two men inside appeared to be asleep. They later told police they did not live in the area. Police ordered them out of the car.

"During this time, officers observed what appeared to be a rifle scope partially covered by other items in the rear hatchback of the vehicle and also what appeared to be ammunition scattered about the interior of the car," the press release states.

Creamer had a hypodermic needle in his possession. Police searched the car and found seven other syringes in the car, ammunition, a bolt action Mosin-Nagant 7.62 mm rifle, a Mossberg rifle and a Ruger 10/22 .22 caliber rifle and hollow point .22 caliber ammunition, police said.

"The Ruger had been altered with modifications, which caused it to be classified as an assault rifle under New Jersey statutes," the press release states.

Creamer was charged with possession of hypodermic syringes, improperly transporting a firearm, possession of an assault rifle and possession of hollow point ammunition. His bail was set at $75,000. Creamer was transported to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, police said.

Neither of the men had a New Jersey Firearms Identification card to legally possess the weapons. It was later determined the property belonged to the driver, the press release states. The investigation is still ongoing at this time, police said.
