Investigations Ongoing for Four Lacey Fires

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working in conjunction with the Ocean County Fire Marshal on any fires that may appear to be suspicious

Four fires that occurred in Lacey between Thursday, April 5 and Sunday, April 8 are still under investigation, John Rieth of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said.

“They all are under investigation and they all are under control,” he said. “There are no new causes per say until the investigations are complete.”

The state forest fire service along with local fire departments battled three brush fires in Lacey in just four days: on April 8 off Lacey Road in the Pine Barrens, another on Route 539 on April 7 and a on April 5.

The fire service is working in conjunction with the Ocean County Fire Marshal on any fires that may appear to be suspicious, Rieth said. 

The Ocean County Fire Marshal also continues to investigate an Easter Sunday house fire that occurred on Beach Boulevard, a representative said.

The home on the 100 Block of Beach Boulevard was fully engulfed when the police and fire departments arrived at approximately 2:14 a.m. No injuries were reported, as the home was unoccupied at the time. The residence is no longer livable.
