Alleged Hit and Run Driver Still at Large

An East Hanover woman sustained injuries after a black pickup truck rammed into her vehicle and fled the scene

An East Hanover woman was injured in a hit and run motor vehicle accident that occurred near Route 9 and South Street on Sunday, police said.

Danielle Pisano, 32, was traveling northbound on Route 9 at approximately 1:53 a.m. when a black pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed behind her. The black pickup rammed into the back of Pisano’s car, as it was still moving and fled the scene. The truck is believed to have traveled northbound into Berkeley Township, police said.

Police said the accident was “significant,” leaving a large amount of debris on the roadway. Police believe the black pickup truck sustained front-end damage.

Pisano sustained injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center.

Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the hit and run, to contact Patrolman Peter Donahue at 609-693-6636, extension 2583.
