Forked River Woman Who Backed Into Police Car Twice Charged With Drunk Driving

Lacey Patrolman Andrew Slota and Dimitri Tsarnas were on their way to the 1200 block of Leguene Avenue on an unrelated investigation at 10:10 p.m. on July 13, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

But the call took an unexpected turn when a woman backed out of a driveway and struck a police cruiser twice, the chief said.

Investigation at the scene led to Stacy Zayas’s arrest for driving under the influence. She was taken to police headquarters and processed. Zayas, 42, was also charged with reckless driving, Paprota said.

Her car was impounded as per John's Law, the chief said.
