Forked River Woman Charged With Forgery, Theft

Charges came after an investigation, police say

A 25-year-old Forked River woman remains behind bars in the Ocean County Jail following her arrest on forgery and theft charges.

Brittany Gibson, of Parkside Drive, was arrested Aug. 13 and charged with two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery, and theft, police said.

The arrest stemmed from a report filed by a Bayville man on Aug. 5, which accused Gibson of stealing his TD Bank debit card and using it to make a $100 purchase at Wawa in Forked River and a $100 purchase at Walmart in Lanoka Harbor, according to police.

The same man accused Gibson of stealing a Waterford Crystal decanter from his vehicle, police said.

Gibson was arrested and charged "after an investigation," police said in a statement.

Gibson was transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, where she remained Wednesday.
