Forked River Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Striking Tree

Thefts as well as shoplifting and warrant arrests from the past week

A Forked River woman was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment following an accident on Lacey Road early Monday morning.

Megan Soden, 21, was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon on Lacey Road near Parker's Pit on Monday, Sept. 17 when the vehicle left the travel portion of the road and struck a tree.

Soden sustained injuries and was flown to the hospital. She was dischrged tht day, according to hospital spokesperson Maureen Gillespie.

Sept. 17
Lillian Dunsmuir, 46, of Lanoka Harbor was being detained by Walmart security on the suspicion of shoplifting. She was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was taken to police headquarters, processed and released. 

Sept. 16
Deborah McCarthy, 54, of Forked River was charged with shoplifting after being detained by Walmart security. McCarthy allegedly attempted to steal $124.38 worth of merchandise. She was processed and released.

Sept. 15
A Forked River juvenile reported that her bike that was left unsecured nearby McDonalds was stolen. The value of the bike was more than $340. 

Sept. 15
A resident of Enterprise Drive in Forked River reported that someone entered his unsecured detached garage and stole more than $1,500 of assorted power tools, hand tools and lawn care tools.

On Saturday, Stafford Township police, with the assistance of the Tuckerton Police Department, arrested Anthony L. Evens Jr., of Barnegat Township on nine outstanding warrants, including: Stafford Township in the amount of $2500, Little Egg Harbor Township in the amount of $808, Barnegat Township in the amount of $500, Lakehurst in the amount of $1039, Brick Township in the amount of $500, Lacey Township in the amount of $1000 and three from the NJ State Police out of Bass River with the total amount of $1558.

Evens was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail because he was unable to post bail. 

Sept. 14
A resident of Deerhead Lake Drive reported that someone stole an air conditioning condensing unit from in front of the garage. The stolen item was a Goodman three-ton condensing unit valued at $600.
