UPDATE: Pole Down After Single-Car Accident

Forked River man charged with DWI after striking poles at Route 9 and Laurel Boulevard

A single-car accident damaged two poles at the intersection of Route 9 and Laurel Boulevard early this morning.

At approximately 12:14 a.m. Anthony Rodriguez, 32, of Forked River struck the poles at the intersection, police said. One pole was knocked down.

Passenger Colleen Frew of Ocean Gate was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River with minor injuries, police said.

Rodriguez was charged with drunken driving and was released on a summons.

No Lacey residents are experiencing a power outage due to the accident, a spokesman from JCP&L said. The company is currently at the site repairing the damage.
