Forked River Man Injured As Car Overturns On Lacey Road
19-year-old in serious condition at Jersey Shore UMC
A 19-year-old Forked River man was hospitalized in serious condition after his car overturned in an accident on Lacey Road late Friday night, Lacey police said.
Mirando Samardzija was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, police said, from the accident scene in front of the entrance to Lacey Materials.
According to the police report, a Toyota 4Runner driven by Kenneth Redwood, 20, of Beachwood, was slowing to make a left turn into Lacey Materials about 10:15 p.m. when Samardzija, driving a Ford Mustang, attempted to pass. Samardzija’s Mustang hit the front driver’s side of the 4Runner, according to police, and ran off the road, and when airborne after hitting a pile of dirt. The Mustang was on its roof when police arrived.

Redwood refused treatment at the scene.
Lacey Patrolmen Robert Flynn and George Resetar investigated. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Investigation Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Lacey Township EMS, MONOC paramedics and the Forked River Fire Department also responded.
