Forked River Man Indicted For Assaulting 2 Police Officers

Another indicted for fraud

A 19-year-old Forked River man was accused of assaulting two Lacey Township cops while resisting arrest, according to an Ocean County grand jury indictment.

Joseph V. Lathrop of Beach Boulevard was accused of assaulting Ptl. Robert Flynn and Daryl Nick while resisting their attempts to arrest him on March 13 in Lacey Township.

Lathrop is free on $25,000 bail.

The grand jury also indicted:

Jesse C. Wheeler, 27, of North Main Street, Lanoka Harbor, for fraudulently using a stolen TD Bank Visa credit card between Jan. 23 and Jan. 16 in Lacey Township and Atlantic City. He was also accused of stealing the card in Lacey on Jan. 23, stealing more than $500 by deception, and forgery.
