Forked River Man Charged With Drug Possession and Distribution

Nicholas Hankinson is eligible for a three to five year prison term per charge, police said

A Forked River man was charged with possession of a prescription drug and distribution, police said.

Nicholas Hankinson, 20, was arrested after police witnessed suspicious behavior in a parking lot on Tuesday, June 19, police said. Hankinson appeared to be meeting with people and conducting transactions.

The investigation found Oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic and more than $2,000 in cash.

Hankinson was charged with possession of Oxycodone and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also found to have an outstanding Lacey Township warrant.

Hankinson was transported to Ocean County Jail after he was unable to post $25,300 cash bail. Each charge is eligible for a three to five year prison term, police said.
