Forked River Man And Trenton Man Facing Drug Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop

Lacey police recently arrested a Forked River man and a Trenton man on numerous drug charges after a DUI checkpoint on Old Shore Road in Forked River, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Noah Schaffer conducted the stop at 11:50 p.m. on May 23. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Ryan J. Tatham, 25, Lakeside Drive South in Forked River and Kevin J. Kennedy, 20, Clinton Avenue South, Trenton, the chief said.

Both men were charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Paprota said.

They were both transported to police headquarters, processed then released.

How much do you think the police force can do?? they catch these low lifes and its the judge that slaps them on the wrists.. The judges need to be more forceful in these cases but they*re not.. so what are the police to do.. Its frustrating to them all the time to catch a druggie only to have them let go by the courts.. its stinks..

Ummm, @ People wake up, just where do you purpose that they house ALL these people they arrest ? Locked In the broom closet ? SMH... really you have no idea how it all works. DO you honestly believe they want these idiots back out on the street ? Maybe you'd like to offer your home as a dentition center till the Judge can hear their case? wow....

It disgusts me that all these ppl get arrested with drugs, mainly heroin and get released on a summons! WTF?

At one time, not too long ago, they'd get arrested and a bail would be set...off to the county they would go. No wonder the drug problem is getting worse, they're not worried about the consequences. They know they won't be sitting in jail going through withdrawal!
