Expect Even More Traffic Delays at Route 9/Lacey Road Intersection

It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Police Chief David A Paprota is warning residents that the state Department of Transportation will have "significantly altered" patterns at the Route 9/Lacey Road intersection over the next week.

"Drivers are asked to exercise caution and be attentive to the signs, cones, and any other controls being utilized by the NJDOT," the chief said in a release. "The lane shifts and possible detours will likely cause delays. The project is controlled exclusively by the NJDOT and not the Township of Lacey".

I do not want a road. I do not want a drug corridor either. I do see the sense in hooking up the area (already being used as a road) behind Home Depot to Lacey Road because the smidgen the Lacey Road and Route 9 intersection has been widened ain't going to do jack.

and the cost would be? It would benefit whom? The majority of the tax payer? NOPE Only ppl in Sunrise. Would it help the intersection of Rt 9 and Lacey rd? NOPE Is there a permit? No Is there a cost estimate from T and M? of course The TC who along with the Freeholders and the BOE are going to raise taxes AGAIN . Do you really think the TC is going to tell the tax payers the cost? NO Is Christie under investigation? YES Did Happy and Christie get the DEP to make a deal? How do you explain or white out the 13 violations in order to make this "deal"

Once again, Leo makes false and misleading statements. The residents on Sunrise wouldn't be the only ones that would benefit by connecting the stub behind Home Depot (that's already being used as a road) to Lacey Road. If one were traveling east on Lacey Road towards Route 9 en route to a White Castle, the diner could avoid the traffic magnet at Route 9 and Lacey Road -which will inevitably be as congested as always because it was only widened a foot- and take a direct route to enjoy the culinary delights. Others that would benefit would be those traveling south on Route 9 in the direction of Lacey Road. Say, a diner doing so had just left White Castle and was in dire need of a commode. The bypass mentioned would facilitate quicker access for the anxious diner and relieve pressure on the main intersection and elsewhere.
