Despite the Night’s Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms, Lacey Roads Are Calm

More rain and thunder ahead, according to National Weather Service

After powerful thunderstorms rocked portions of Ocean County last night, dropping heavy rains, the day cleared quickly. Despite the winds and the rough weather overnight, traffic was calm, according to the New Jersey State Police, with a single car accident on the Garden State Parkway, near exit 74 just before 6 a.m.

A vehicle rolled on its side, but no one suffered any injuries, said Captain Frank Davis, the State Police public information officer. “It probably looked like more than it was,” he said of the accident, adding that the night was otherwise uneventful for the southern part of the state and Ocean County.

The National Weather Service is predicting more scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and on Sunday for Lacey Township.
Otherwise, expect a weekend of dry weather and “slightly above normal temperatures,” National Weather Service meteorologist Mark DeLisi said.
