Waretown man charged with possession of marijuana after motor vehicle stop

A Waretown man was charged with possession of marijuana after police conducted a motor vehicle stop for speeding.

Thomas Thompson, 60, of Waretown was pulled over by police on Wednesday, July 20 in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River.

While speaking with Thompson, Patrolman Peter Donahue detected the odor of burnt marijuana.

An investigation led to Thompson being charged with possession of marijuana 50 grams or less and speeding.

Thompson was released after being processed on a criminal summons along with a ticket for speeding.
