Cars Burglarized, Motorcycle Stolen in Lacey

Incidents happened over the weekend, according to police

Vehicles were burglarized and a motorcycle was stolen in separate incidents in Lacey, police say.

On Friday, a resident of Hemlock Drive as well as a resident of Camden Court in Lanoka Harbor reported that during the overnight hours between Thursday and Friday, an unknown person or persons entered their unlocked vehicle and stole items from the passenger compartments, according to a statement from police.

Items reported stolen from the Camden Court incident included vehicle paperwork, while the Hemlock Drive incident involved the theft of a black purse containing various items, including a debit card, police said.

Use of the debit card was unsuccessfully attempted at 2:39 a.m. on Friday, up the roadway at Kearney Federal Savings. The matter is currently under investigation, police said.

In a separate incident, between the hours of 5:30 p.m. Friday and midnight on Saturday, an unknown suspect stole a motorcycle from the side of a garage at a residence on the 800 block of Baldwin Street in the Pines section of Forked River.

The dirt/street motorcycle, described by police as a dual sport motorcycle, was unsecured at the time of the theft, according to police. 

The motorcycle is described as a 2004, KTM dual sport, model 625EXC. It is orange in color and valued at $10,000.

No one was home at the residence at the time of the theft, police said.
