Car Overturns In Lacey; Woman Charged With DUI

The woman was charged with driving under the influence in Lacey Sunday after her car overturned near the entrance to Walmart

A 20-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence in Lacey Sunday after her car overturned near the entrance to Walmart, police said.

On Sunday, Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to 504 Route 9 North, near the entrance to Walmart, for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle, police said.

An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Eleison McHugh of Rabbit Court in Whiting,, for DUI. She was transported to headquarters and processed.

McHugh was later released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, underage DUI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. The vehicle Eleison McHugh was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
