Burglarized Home Sustains More than $25K in Damages

Police reported three successful burglaries since Dec. 27

Police responded to a home on Smith Road, which is located in the Bamber Lake section of town, on a report of a home that had been subject to a burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Someone made a forced entry into the home, which is unoccupied, on Dec. 27, stealing two air conditioner compressors valued at $10,000.

Approximately 100 feet of electrical wires valued at $1,000 were also removed from the house along with 100 feet of copper piping.

The estimated cost to repair the plumbing is approximately $10,000 along with $15,000 to repair the electrical damage.

This was one of three successful burglaries that occurred since Dec. 27.

Dec. 31
Police responded to a home on Oakwood Place in Forked River where someone made a forced entry, stealing an iPod touch. There was $200 in estimated damage to the home. 

Dec. 30
An officer reported to a Lakeside Drive South home where a rear window screen was damaged, indicating that someone attempted to gain entry but was unsuccessful. 

Dec. 29
Police responded to home on Lake Barnegat North where forced entry was made into a home. Various jewelry, credit cards and money were taken from home. Estimated damage to home was less than $100.
