A Brooklyn man died early this morning when  his Volkswagen slammed into a car that slowed down at the scene of another another accident near mile marker 73 southbound on the Garden State Parkway, Trooper Jeffrey Flynn said.

Alan Kaprov, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The first accident involved a Honda Accord that was disabled as a result of the accident. The driver of the Honda was out of his car, warning other vehicles that debris was in the roadway, Flynn said.

A Nissan Altima and a Buick LaSabre had slowed down to avoid the debris when Kaprov's car struck the Altima at 12:54 a.m., he said.

The New Jersey State Police, Lacey Township Police Department, the Forked River Fire Department, Beachwood EMS, MONOC paramedics, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Medical Examiner responded, Flynn said.
