Beachwood Man Suffers Neck, Chest Injuries in Western Boulevard Crash

Chevrolet Suburban left roadway, according to police report

A 41-year-old Beachwood man is being treated for neck and chest injuries at Atlantic City Medical Center, following a Saturday morning car crash on Western Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor.

Timothy Dellapietro, Windwood Drive, was traveling north at approximately 7 a.m. when his 1993 Chevrolet Suburban left the roadway and struck a business sign, stop sign, fire hydrant, mailbox and utility pole, according to a Lacey Township police report.

The utility pole was knocked down and came to rest in the street.

Dellapietro, who was the only occupant of the Suburban, was ejected from the vehicle.

During the collision, which occurred near Cambridge Road, a rear wheel and wheel assembly separated from the vehicle and continued to travel down the roadway until it struck a 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by Margaret Peleman. Peleman, of Bayville, was not injured, according to police.

Police were assisted by the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department and Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad.

The investigation, which is ongoing, is being conducted by Officers Jeffrey Slota and George Resetar and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Criminal Investigative Unit.

Dellapietro's condition was unavailable.

@Keeping what's mine: In yesterday's account of this accident here on the Patch, a witness commented that the Surburban was driving normally but another car cut him off coming out of one of the side streets there, causing the Surburban to hit the curb and roll, whic was reported to the police. The other car sped off and left the scene. Best wishes to Timothy for a speedy recovery.

I too hope Timothy recovers soon. Glad he did not cause this himself. The scum that left the scene will hopefully get caught SOON

For keeping whats mine maybe you should just worry about your own if you dont know the facts and for angelo how about he called our home from his bosses phone cause he was at WORK what any normal human would be doing at that time of morning he was coming home to get his phone Im not sure if any of you have families but he has 5 children me being one of them and the youngest is 4 so he cant read minds with us we use cell phones to keep in contact weird thought right? for those of you that are hoping for a fast recovery and wishing well for him thank you but those of you that are assuming things it might be smarter to keep your comments to yourself or comment on something else id never wish this upon anyone or try and fit puzzle pieces together im sure none of you are detectives so you should probably worry about your lives and your selves until it is one of your family members you will never know how it feels to have to go through all this.... from his DAUGHTER
Ellen Salmons July 30, 2012 at 04:05 PM

Not that it's any o your business but the toxicology report came back with nothing in it so before putting my families business all over the Internet and even though we are nt his biological daughters he does have one real daughter with Kelli so get your facts straight maybe it's the bud talking thanks for your concern but you can worry about your own family well get through this without losing sleep over your comment
Berkeley Lifer July 30, 2012 at 07:03 PM
toxicology reports take 6 to 8 weeks so keep it real.....
Blade July 30, 2012 at 10:11 PM

What would be the point of putting this or any story out there for comments if all that was said was "I'll pray for you","get well","our thoughts are with you", etc. That is not what Patch wants. They want comments, points and counter points. Lots of them. Stories or blogs that get many comments are left up for all to see. Those with a few comments or boring comments get dropped quickly.
Sara Dove July 30, 2012 at 10:47 PM
Keep your negative comments to yourself. You all know if you were in the same place you wouldn't want anyone making the comments that are being said. Everyone makes mistake everyone has their own problems and how they cope with it is their business. I know Timmy and he is a great person and a great father. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Sara Dove July 30, 2012 at 10:49 PM
And I think bud drinkers comments should be deleted. It's no ones business.

Thank you all I wish that some people could walk mile in our shoes and see what it's like I do agree that the patch is here to bring up points and issues but what he did in his past is not what should be brought up and to who ever said a toxicology report takes that long yes it does. It they've been drawing blood since he's been there and nothing out of the ordinary has come up along with myself and others that are there for Timmy and the rest of my family thank you for the support Im sure we'll be just fine and to others who are posting negative comments please worry about yourselves and your families issues and well worry about Timmy's problems as well as our own thank you

I leave nearby seen many of accidents here & there I do feel for you & your family He was speeding..will also not know the results of a toxicology report or any blood results until after the investigators are done then he will be the next to know.I am glad for the bystanders that no one got hurt,,That woman in the minivan could of died from that tire,,She was also someones mother , daughter & wife or could have been one of our neighbors. Alot might more care is needed when people get behind the wheel of a vehicle
JOHNNY Done it July 31, 2012 at 03:12 AM
Take a look at that vehicle, from the corner of cambridge to what it hit & landed all of his items in his vehicle got ejected from the vehicle ,,He was not doing the speed limit ..Witnesses are not always reliable
JOHNNY Done it July 31, 2012 at 03:22 AM
KW21 probably good advice not to comment on any of this ,Any lawyer will tell you that..
Karen c July 31, 2012 at 12:19 PM

kw21 July 31, 2012 at 04:24 PM
Okay well we were all at the hospital and have been since day one so what you all say has no affect on my regardless of he was speeding or not so was the person that miss judges him and just pulled out I'm sure they weren't doing the speed limit either and not all of you are innocent you know damn well that you have all sped one time in your life I could care less about your comments and how you feel honestly you can all argue amongst your selves and I will comment on this article and say whatever I please If you don't like what I say then find someone else or another family to talk down on and for the women in the van that's nice that's she's your neighbor yes I feel bad it was an accident he didn't throw the tire at her can it rolled off anything can happen she's fine please stop trying to make matters worse post your opinion but there is no need for arguing its getting both you and I no where thank you again
ronald July 31, 2012 at 08:52 PM
Hope all is well timmy im sorry this had to happen take care and if i can help u no to call me. Our best wishes, scott and everybody from RSE
JOHNNY Done it August 03, 2012 at 01:54 AM
The rear axle with both tires came of the vehicle down the road from excessive force due to excessive speed & not the 5-10mph people do over the speed limit , just saying
