Beachwood Man Suffers Neck, Chest Injuries in Western Boulevard Crash

Chevrolet Suburban left roadway, according to police report

A 41-year-old Beachwood man is being treated for neck and chest injuries at Atlantic City Medical Center, following a Saturday morning car crash on Western Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor.

Timothy Dellapietro, Windwood Drive, was traveling north at approximately 7 a.m. when his 1993 Chevrolet Suburban left the roadway and struck a business sign, stop sign, fire hydrant, mailbox and utility pole, according to a Lacey Township police report.

The utility pole was knocked down and came to rest in the street.

Dellapietro, who was the only occupant of the Suburban, was ejected from the vehicle.

During the collision, which occurred near Cambridge Road, a rear wheel and wheel assembly separated from the vehicle and continued to travel down the roadway until it struck a 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by Margaret Peleman. Peleman, of Bayville, was not injured, according to police.

Police were assisted by the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department and Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad.

The investigation, which is ongoing, is being conducted by Officers Jeffrey Slota and George Resetar and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Criminal Investigative Unit.

Dellapietro's condition was unavailable.

The rear axle with both tires came of the vehicle down the road from excessive force due to excessive speed & not the 5-10mph people do over the speed limit , just saying
