Beach Boulevard Home Fully Engulfed by Early Morning Fire

No injuries were reported, as the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire

Yellow tape surrounds a Beach Boulevard home that is no longer livable after a fire ignited early this morning.

The home on the 100 block of Beach Boulevard was fully engulfed when the police and fire departments arrived at approximately 2:14 a.m. No injuries were reported, as the residence was unoccupied at the time.

“It was fully involved before we got there,” Forked River Fire Department Chief Ray Brandmahl said. “Fire was already coming through the windows.”

It took about 25 minutes before the blaze was contained, he said. Approximately 85 percent of the small two-bedroom home sustained major damage.

The homeowners were contacted and are not currently displaced as they were out of the home the day before the fire occurred, he said.

The cause and origination of the blaze is currently unknown, Brandmahl said.

Forty-two firefighters from the Forked River Fire Department and Bayville FAST Team extinguished the fire. The Lanoka Harbor Fire Company was ready for backup while the Waretown Fire Department covered for Forked River.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CIU are investigating the fire.

Return to Lacey Patch for more information as it becomes available.

If you saw who was renting you would feel that something fishy was going on.. Isn*t it strange that it happened at 2am ? Feel bad for the owner of the house becuase they are nice people.. This is why people hate to rent because renters dont care and take care of the property they are renting.. They dont take pride in any home so if they ruin your home that they are renting they feel it ok because its not theirs so who cares... what a shame.. hopefully the owners will put up a nicer home and really screen their tenants..

It looked like there were 5 or 6 people living in that house. I saw the report on Patch and thought about that house first. Fishy is right.
