Bayville Man Charged With Threatening Burger King Employee

Burglaries, thefts and additional arrests from the past week

A Bayville resident was arrested and charged after he allegedly threatened a Lanoka Harbor Burger King employee.

Kimball Morrell, 40, was arrested after police responded to the Burger King on a report of altercation at 7:36 p.m. Oct. 8.

A Burger King employee intervened between Morrell and another individual who were arguing outside of the restaurant, police said.

As a result, Morrell allegedly threatened the employee and pulled a razor knife out, police said.

There were no injuries at the scene.

Morrell was charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and harassment. He was sent to the Ocean County Jail with bail set at $10,000.

Lt. Scott Tirella provided the following information: 

Oct. 15
There was a burglary on Conifer Drive. The home was entered through a rear window and approximately $15,000 worth of jewelry was stolen. 

Oct. 15
Police responded to Lake Barnegat Drive North on a report of a theft. Someone stole $500 worth of tools from an unlocked and opened garage between noon and 1:30 p.m.

Joseph Caputo IV was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, resisting arrest and aggravated assault upon an officer.

Police originally responded to the Lacey Inn, where Caputo resides, for a medical call unrelated to Caputo at 12:38 a.m. Caputo allegedly got involved and has been sent to the Ocean County Jail with bail set at $20,000. 

Caputo was previously indicted in April on a theft charge after stealing various items of jewelry worth more than $500 from two Lacey women between Aug. 29 and Oct. 17.

Oct. 10
Victor Omar Marquez Mejia, 27, of Forked River was charged with DWI after a two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Lacey Road and Penn Avenue at 8:12 p.m.

Mejia was charged with DWI, reckless driving, tailgating and unlicensed driver.
