Barnegat Man Handed Summonses After Route 9 Accident

Paul Shook was charged with four motor vehicle summonses after striking a utility pole on Route 9 last week, leaving approximately 840 locals without power

The Barnegat man involved with the as well as Oyster Creek Generating Station last week was handed four motor vehicle summonses, police said. 

At approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday, June 14, a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup operated by Paul Shook, 28, struck a utility pole on Route 9’s northbound shoulder, police said.

Shook was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin after complaining of chest pains. He was later charged with driving while suspended, failure to maintain lane, careless driving and failure to present an insurance card, polie said.

The owner of the vehicle Patricia Davino, 42, of Barnegat was issued a summons for allowing a suspended driver to operate the car.

June 13
Michelle Lacour, 22, of Forked River was charged with driving while intoxicated possession of heroin and possession of hypodermic needles at 11:30 p.m. She was sent to Ocean County Jail with bail set at $10,000 bail.

June 17
At 8:43 p.m. police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 9 and Bay Way on Michael Lapietra, 28, of Bayville. Lapietra had a $500 warrant out of Eatontown. He was charged with driving while suspended and careless driving and was released on his own recognizance.

June 15
Christopher Knemoller, 21, of Forked River was arrested at headquarters for a warrant out of Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for violation of drug court. He was sent to Ocean County Jail with no bail set.

June 14
While a landscaping company was working at a business on Lacey Road, two RedMax Leaf Blowers valued at $600 each were stolen from a truck.
