Alleged Lacey Shoplifter Nabbed In Berkeley Had Seaside Heights Warrant

An accused Lacey shoplifter who was caught at the Dollar General Store in Berkeley had an outstanding warrant out of Seaside Heights, police said.

On April 8 at 7:30 p.m. Ptl. Michael Tier responded to the Dollar General store located at 370 Route 9 for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival he met with store managers who advised that a female subject had left the store with items that were not paid for.

Further investigation revealed that the woman allegedly was Melissa Weidencamp, 25, of Forked River As a result Weidencamp was located a short distance away and was then placed under arrest.

Weidencamp also had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Seaside Heights Municipal Court. Weidencamp was taken to police H.Q. for processing where she was later released to the Seaside Heights Police Department.
