Pickup Bumps Into Utility Pole, Driver Sustains Injuries

Motorist rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center by helicopter.

A Lacey man driving a pickup truck stuck a utility pole at the Route 9 and Beach Boulevard intersection earlier today. Ryan Bacon, 24, suffered injuries to the head, hand and leg, and was rushed to the Jersey Shore Medical Center by MONOC helicopter this morning.

Bacon is being admitted into the emergency room of the Jersey Shore  Medical Center as of this writing, according to a hospital employee, who refused to be identified for the record. The hospital’s spokesman Rob Cavanaugh said he would
release more detailed information about Bacon’s condition later.

As a result of the impact, both the pole and Bacon’s 1996 Ford pickup truck sustained heavy damage.

Police say an adult pit bull was with Bacon at the time of the accident. While Bacon is being treated for head, hand and leg injuries, the pit bull was released to a family member and seemed to be unharmed.
