Pickup Bumps Into Utility Pole, Driver Sustains Injuries

Motorist rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center by helicopter.

A Lacey man driving a pickup truck stuck a utility pole at the Route 9 and Beach Boulevard intersection earlier today. Ryan Bacon, 24, suffered injuries to the head, hand and leg, and was rushed to the Jersey Shore Medical Center by MONOC helicopter this morning.

Bacon is being admitted into the emergency room of the Jersey Shore  Medical Center as of this writing, according to a hospital employee, who refused to be identified for the record. The hospital’s spokesman Rob Cavanaugh said he would
release more detailed information about Bacon’s condition later.

As a result of the impact, both the pole and Bacon’s 1996 Ford pickup truck sustained heavy damage.

Police say an adult pit bull was with Bacon at the time of the accident. While Bacon is being treated for head, hand and leg injuries, the pit bull was released to a family member and seemed to be unharmed.

LOL @ Down with OPP... I was thinking the same thing ! That must have been some 'litte' bump ! He had to be going at a pretty high speed to knock that Utility pole down regardless of whether it ws his fault or not. He had to be speeding. I understand the engine was pushed into the dash! Hope he is ok...glad the dog is ok, poor thing.

Julie that kid did not kill anyone under the influence. the Mexican man was riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road..it was an accident...small town... big rumors...get a life!
Julie Root June 27, 2011 at 02:54 PM
NFD I laugh at you and I know better. Do you think his tat of FORGIVEN across his chest is to rid him of guilt? What guilt if your innocent. Did you feel the need to report my facts? Stay nameless that's exactly what you are.

I'm confused...where does it say he was drunk? I re-read the whole article twice....Mexican man on a bicycle?? Tattoo? I don't get it.
Julie Root June 29, 2011 at 09:47 PM
He was in another accident in which he WAS more than just intoxicated. It involved a fatality whereas an illegal was riding a bike and was killed. NFD complained and had my post removed. And yes, he bears a tatoo across his chest that reads "Forgiven" though I can't imagine by who. This is not his second either. Though I bet he can't get out of this one. He has hurt enough people. Just because someone is riding on the wrong side of the road doesn't mean he deserves to be killed. However, driving drunk and/or under the influence and injuring anyone, DOES put you at fault. How pathetic to use the excuse he was on the wrong side of the road. Tell that to his son.

DEAR MS. JULIE, WITH TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY DON'T YOU THINK THIS GUY WOULD BE BEHIND BARS. YOU SEEM TO THINK YOU KNOW THIS GUY. MAYBE A LITTLE TOO MUCH. SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE A LITTLE ANGRY!!!! HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HIS TAT?????
Julie Root June 29, 2011 at 11:52 PM
google him.. his tat is on the web... EXACTLY MODERN TECHNOLOGY... It's amazing what 5 minutes of research will find. And yes, I'm angry at all drunk drivers, especially those that kill and put others at risk!!
Julie Root June 29, 2011 at 11:54 PM
Ask Lacey why he wasn't put behind bars.. I have my own opinion on that.
Julie Root June 30, 2011 at 01:15 AM
