78-Year-Old Also Arrested, Along With Lacey Woman, For DUI Near Accident Scene

An 80-year-old Lacey woman charged with drunken driving after she was involved in a recent accident was not the only elderly person arrested at the scene.

Police arrested 78-year-old Frederick Wright of Forked River for DUI after he was located in a second, but uninvolved vehicle at the accident scene.

Teresa Murray, 80, was charged with driving under the influence and was then transported to headquarters for processing after the Dec. 20 crash. She was then released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, DUI refusal, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane, police said.
At 7:57 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 400 block of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River on a motor-vehicle accident report. A vehicle had struck an unoccupied parked vehicle, police said.

An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Murray, police said. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

While dealing with the motor vehicle accident, Wright was transported to headquarters and processed. Wright was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and reckless driving. The vehicle being operated was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Think they would think at their age.......Don't drink and drive...Awful to think someone could be hurt/killed by a drunk in their 70's and 80's.
