3 Lacey Residents Transported to Hospital Following Head-On Collision

Local emergency services were hindered by torrential rain and lighting as they extricated two

Hindered by torrential rain and lighting, local emergency services responded to a two-car collision on Sunday in which two Lacey residents were transported to the hospital, police said.

On Deerhead Lake Drive, just north of its intersection with Windsor Place, a 1988 Plymouth Reliant and a 1996 Mazda 626 were involved in a head-on collision at 6 p.m.

The Plymouth was operated by 60-year-old Theresa Dolch of Forked River and contained Richard Roventine, 86, of Forked River as a front seat passenger. The Mazda contained driver and lone occupant Nicholas Landolfi, 20, of Lanoka Harbor.

Both Dolch and Roventine were extricated from their vehicle and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River. Dolch suffered leg pain while Roventine went in for an evaluation.

Landolfi was transported to Community Medical Center after also complaining of leg pain.

Initial investigation revealed that the Mazda driven by Landolfi failed to maintain its lane prior to the collision, police said. The investigation is ongoing and summonses have not yet been issued.

The Forked River Fire Company, Lacey EMS and medics from MONOC assisted Lacey police at the scene.

R.I.P grandpa 7:04pm 7/20/2012 you will always be missed. Thanks Mr Landolfi
Justin July 21, 2012 at 01:44 PM
My prayers go out to you and your family. I am very sorry for your loss. But I don't think it is right to blame Mr. Landolfi. I am sure it wasn't intentional. I don't know him but from the article it doesn't say he was drinking or doing anything wrong. If I remember correctly it was down pouring that day. If anything you should blame the hospital for misdiagnosing their patient. Again, I am very sorry for your loss
LaceyCitizen1 July 21, 2012 at 07:35 PM
If you saw the police report maybe you would know enough to say somthing like that wthout being wrong.
Sallie J. Coleman July 23, 2012 at 03:21 PM
I agree With Justin....Horrible that you have lost a LOVE one. But it was an accident! The Hospital screwed up BIGtime. Not necessary to "thank" Mr.Landolfi, hurtful. The young Man was NOT drunk, texting, infact was working @ the time. lost control of his car on the fresh WET road. + God's will Sorry for your lost HOPE THE LORD helps you with your anger
LaceyCitizen1 July 23, 2012 at 08:37 PM
