3 Lacey Residents Transported to Hospital Following Head-On Collision

Hindered by torrential rain and lighting, local emergency services responded to a two-car collision on Sunday in which two Lacey residents were transported to the hospital, police said.

On Deerhead Lake Drive, just north of its intersection with Windsor Place, a 1988 Plymouth Reliant and a 1996 Mazda 626 were involved in a head-on collision at 6 p.m.

The Plymouth was operated by 60-year-old Theresa Dolch of Forked River and contained Richard Roventine, 86, of Forked River as a front seat passenger. The Mazda contained driver and lone occupant Nicholas Landolfi, 20, of Lanoka Harbor.

Both Dolch and Roventine were extricated from their vehicle and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River. Dolch suffered leg pain while Roventine went in for an evaluation.

Landolfi was transported to Community Medical Center after also complaining of leg pain. 

Initial investigation revealed that the Mazda driven by Landolfi failed to maintain its lane prior to the collision, police said. The investigation is ongoing and summonses have not yet been issued.

The Forked River Fire Company, Lacey EMS and medics from MONOC assisted Lacey police at the scene.
