Letter: Gary Vaccaro, The “Thinking Person’s Candidate”

A Forked River resident shares her support for Democratic candidate Gary Vaccaro

There's a positive "buzz" around town about Gary Vaccaro, the Democratic candidate for Lacey Committee.  I attended his town hall meeting this week and I’m impressed.

Gary’s six year analysis of our rising tax problem was detailed and explanative. As he put it, before you can solve a problem you need to understand the causes, and now, more than ever, I understand why we need a change in leadership!

Gary’s strategy for restoring fiscal responsibility - prioritizing spending, aggressively pursuing shared services, and setting long term planning goals - shows that he’s already attacking the problem before he’s even been elected.  For example, Gary has developed a “pay to play” ordinance that is even stricter than current law, which he intends to introduce after November.

Best of all, Gary listens to Lacey  residents, and the idea for a “Waterways Commission” gives hope to those of us who reside “East of Route 9,” that our issues - like dredging - will be more effectively addressed in the future than they have been in the past.

I call Gary the "thinking person's candidate." He rolls up his sleeves, does the homework and gets to the bottom of the issues.  With committee members like Gary, we can put our beloved town back on the road to financial recovery and prosperity.

Gary Vaccaro for Lacey Committee  - Vote “Yes!”
