Jersey's luck turned this weekend.
He was adopted by a family who had visited him a number of times after reading about him. They even brought their own dog in every day for a week to make sure the two would get along, according to Popcorn Park's Facebook page.
And Saturday, they took him home.
"We are absolutely thrilled to announce
that finally, JERSEY GOT ADOPTED!! He got the best home ever and will
be loved and cared for the way he deserves to be," Associated Humane Societies' Facebook page states. "Jersey's new family
welcomed him with open arms, and promised to give him the wonderful life
that he's been dreaming of. Jersey said goodbye to his old friends
today and though we will miss him terribly, we are so happy for him and
his new family."
