Annual 'Humane Day' Celebration And Fair At Popcorn Park This Weekend

Have some fun and save some lives.

That's what officials at the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo are are hoping many will do Saturday and Sunday at the park at 1 Humane Way in Forked River.

The 2nd Annual Craft and Vendor Fair "Humane Day Celebration" will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

The event will feature crafts, food, entertainment and animal demonstrations, said AHS employee Renee Szorosy.

"We have over 50 crafters of all types, such as handmade jewelry, soap, clothing,  gourmet doggie treats as well Pampered Chef, Origami Owl and many, many more," she said.

Hanlon's K-9 will demonstrate police protective work and obedience programs with animals. Snakes-n-Scales will present "Radical Reptiles."

The event will also feature belly dancing shows, face painting, sand art and airbrush tatoos. Psychic Lisa Gutowski will also be available for readings.

Admission to the fair is free. General admission into the Popcorn Park Zoo is zoo is $5 for adults and $4 for children and seniors. Proceeds from the event will benefit animal adoptions, Animal Haven Farm and the zoo.
