RUAA Summer Gathering: Alumni House Kickoff Reception

Celebrate Rutgers pride and spirit as we kickoff the campaign for the first-ever alumni house at Rutgers University, located right here on the Camden Campus. The alumni house will serve as a permanent gathering space for Rutgers alumni in South Jersey—a place to reunite with friends, former classmates, and professors and, of course, to reminisce about our college days.

Charlene Mires, Associate Professor of History at Rutgers-Camden, will provide an historical overview of the history of 312 Cooper Street, the proposed space for the Rutgers-Camden Alumni House, from its beginning as private residencies for successful local merchants, to its use as Camden County Republican headquarters, to its last known occupancy, the Red Cross. Chancellor Wendell Pritchett will speak about the project and its importance to the Rutgers-Camden campus. Following the program, alumni are invited to stay and celebrate with the co-chairs of the Alumni House Project—Charles Ivory CCAS'69, Dean Ragone CCAS'81, and James Rhodes CCAS'94.

All Camden alumni are invited to join us to honor the past, celebrate the future, and find out how you can contribute to the success of Rutgers' first alumni house. Admission is free, but advance registration is required by August 18. If you have any questions, please email alumni@camden.rutgers.edu or call 856-225-6028.
