Sticker shock is this week’s theme as gas prices balloon to an average hike of $.20 cents per gallon in our area. Weekend travel will be a luxury for many as there may be no relief for gas prices in the coming weeks, possibly months.
The national average for Friday, April 15, according to AAA, rose to $3.81 (from $3.73) for regular, $3.94 (from $3.87) for midgrade and $4.07 (from $4.00) for premium. For the daily national average please visit: fuelgaugereport.aaa.com.
According to experts, next week, Americans will see prices for regular touching upon the $4.00 dollar mark and beyond, depending on what part of the country you reside.

If you’re in the Forked River area this week expect to pay around $3.59 for a gallon of regular. The Lacey Shell and Super Wawa are at $3.59 for regular. Our neighbors’ in Waretown is at the same price.

If you’re in the Lanoka Harbor area, expect to pay around an average of $3.60 for regular.
The Garden State Service Station in Forked River is at $3.53 for Regular, a great deal if you’re in the vicinity, but don’t make a special trip unless you’re on the parkway.
If you’re gassing up in this area the best deal is at the Delta station of Route 9 with regular at $3.47. The worst is at the Route 9 Exxon with $3.65 for regular, so stay clear.
