Things Happening In Southern Ocean County This Week
Here's a list of some things to do in the Southern Ocean County area this week:
MONDAY - Horizon Healthcare's Blue to You Van will be at the Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library on East Lacey Road from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Representatives will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about claims and billing.
MONDAY - Introduction to Fish Knots and Rigging, 7 p.m. - Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library. What knots do what? Surf-fishing expert, John Sweet, will show you basic knots used by fishermen, how to tie them, and what they are used for in fishing. Also learn to tie a group of basic fishing rigs, how to join lines, and more. Hands-on instruction will result in making your own rigs in class. Please bring a spool of 30 lb. test monofilament (no braided lines), a pair of needle-nose pliers and a fingernail clipper. Ages 12 and up. SATURDAY - Sci-Fi Saturday at the Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library on East Lacey Road will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Three films are scheduled - 9:30 am - E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (rated PG)
12:00 am – Forbidden Planet (unrated)
2:00 pm – Battle Los Angeles (2011) (rated PG-13.
SATURDAY - Free tours of the Barnegat Historical Society's four buildings, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
SUNDAY - Jazzy Scallop and Seafood Festival - 2:30 p.m to 5 p.m., Viking Village, 19th Avenue and Bayview, Barnegat Light. Admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Come enjoy jazz, scallops, seafood wine and beer. Proceeds will benefit Marine Science and Music scholarships. For more information, call 609-494-0113.
