The Morning Call

Hate Mondays? Well, there's nothing we can do about it. Here's a little boost to help you start your week in Southern Ocean County.

The Weather:

The weather in a few words? Chance of showers and thunderstorms. That's the National Weather Service's mantra for most of the week.

Today
- Mostly cloudy with a high near 86. There's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9 a.m. Winds will be from the east at 8 miles per hour.

Tonight - Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Expect a low near 73 degrees. Winds will be from the southeast, becoming southwest at six miles per hour after midnight.

Tuesday - Mostly cloudy with a high near 84 degrees. Winds will be from the west becoming southwest at 5 to 9 miles per hour in the morning.Showers are likely, with possible thunderstorms.

Things to Do:

Stop by the Lacey Township Board of Education meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at Lacey Township High School. The board is in the process of finalizing a "random drug testing program" for high school students.

• Tell Your Sandy Story - 7 p.m., Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library. What happened to you during the storm and what is your life like now? The discussion will be moderated by Corinne Ruff, author and collaborator of Island Child, LBI: Life Lessons from the Shore. Please register at www.theoceancountylibrary.org or call 609-494-2480.

What we are working on:

Lacey Police Chief David A. Paprota and Mayor David E. Most say drugs are the biggest issue in Lacey Township.

Have a good day, stay cool and be careful out there!
