Public Meeting To Be Held On Future Of Nuclear Power Plants

Jersey Shore Nuclear Watch is sponsoring a public meeting on re-thinking the safety of the nuclear power industry

A meeting will be held updating the public on the risks of nuclear plants in the United States at the Ocean County Library in Toms River at 1:30 p.m., Edith Gbur of Jersey Shore Nuclear Watch said.

“The catastrophic accident of the Fukushima Nuclear Plant, which has the same design as Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant, has sparked a re-thinking about the safety and desirability of the Nuclear Power Industry,” Gbur said.

Michael Mariotte, executive Director of Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS) will address the public on the US Evacuation Plan in case of a nuclear meltdown and the future of nuclear power plants.
