Police Investigating Several Recent Home Burglaries And Thefts

No indication of forced entry.

That sentence is at the end of police reports involving several recent thefts from homes in Lacey.

A Joseph Street resident in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor called police at 6:18 p.m. on July 14 to report the theft of more than $3,000 in jewelry, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The resident told Special Officer Travis Horton that sometime between 8 a.m. on July 12 and 5 p.m., someone entered the home and took the jewelry, the chief said.

• Officer Charles May responded to a report of a theft at 10:21 p.m. on July 12, in the 600 block of Devon Street. The resident told police that someone had stolen his cell phone valued at $400 from his bedroom, sometime between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., the chief said.

• Special Officer Jesse Urban responded to the 800 block of Dolan Street for a report of a theft at 2:47 p.m. on July 13. The victim reported that sometime between July 5 and July 13, 2013, an unknown person stole lawn ornaments with a total value of $70. The items were recovered later in the day.
