Plenty of opportunities to taste Jersey wine this weekend. And if you don't want to taste wine, how about lima beans?

Let’s take a moment to think about what makes Cape May so great, shall we?

Strolling around during Christmas.

And there is always – ALWAYS – something special going on, regardless of the time of year.

While most shore towns are packing things up for the offseason, Cape May keeps on a-chuggin’. This weekend, you have Victorian Weekend in town as well as the Garden State Wine Festival out at the Cape May- Lewes Ferry Terminal. The wine festival brings more than 20 of the state’s wineries together for two days of tasting fun. The tickets are $25 for one day and $35 if you want a two-day pass.

In addition to the tastings on dry land, you can take a Sunset Wine Lovers Cruise on the ferry itself tomorrow night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $39 a person., but you need to reserve ahead of time, so call 800.64FERRY to reserve your tickets.

For the Victorian Weekend, you can start off with the Beer Dinner at The Mad Batter tonight at 7:30 p.m. The theme is German beer (it’s still Oktoberfest time), and the cost is $65 per person. On Saturday, get your walking shoes and chocolate groove on for the Chocolate Championship Tasting and Tour taking place in locations throughout Cape May. Saturday is also the day for West Cape May’s famous Lima Bean Festival at Wilbraham Park.

If all that chocolate doesn’t wear you out on Saturday, you can come back for more delcious punishment on Sunday by attending the Fudge Fantasy being held at The Inn of Cape May at 2 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. In the mood for something stronger? Then take a short trip up the Parkway to Wildwood for the Souper Sunday Chili and Chowder Cook Off being held at Morey’s Pier at 1 p.m.

Now how much would you pay for this weekend? But wait -there’s more!

In Ocean County

Seaside Heights has its annual Italian Street Festival on Grant Avenue. Ther festival starts later this afternoon and runs through Sunday.

A Little Ways Away

The Golden Inn Hotel & Resort is having an Italian Wine Weekend, so get a sitter for the kids, and go hide away for a weekend with food, wine and the ocean for background enjoyment. There will also be an Italian Festival on Saturday at KIX McNutley’s in Sea Isle City.

If You're A Little More Adventuous

The Agora Greek Food & Wine Festival at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill got started yesterday, but the food will not stop coming until Sunday.

On Saturday, you have the Apple Festival at Kirby’s Mill in Medford, the Seafood and Music Festival in Wildwood, and the Harvest Celebration being hosted by Impact Harvest in Vineland. Saturday also kicks off the South Jersey Pumpkin Show at the Atlantic County 4-H Fairground in South Egg Harbor and the Indian Summer Weekend in Ocean City.
