Eating, Drinking and Cooking in South Jersey This Weekend: TECHmunch Philly and South Jersey Fall Wine and Beer Festival

Area food bloggers will be heading to Philly this Saturday for TECHmunch, a one-day conference for us to help improve our craft and how to get our words out better. A couple of our friends are part of the proceedings: Wendy ‘La Phemme Phoodie’ Kirby helped to organize the whole event, and Robin ‘SJ Locavore’ Shreeves is one of the guest speakers. Lisa and I will be working the registration table, and we’re looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful area food writers that will be attending.

This weekend is also the first annual Vintage South Jersey Fall Wine and Beer Festival at Campbell’s Field along the Camden Waterfront. The two-day festival is featuring South Jersey wines and brews from 1PM to 6PM. Tickets are $25 per person.

Also this weekend you have: the Fall Harvest Wine Dinner at Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield Friday night at 7PM, the Fall Family Style Oyster and Ham Dinner at the Port Norris Fire Company this Sunday, and the beginning of Tropicana’s Restaurant Week, which runs through November 1.

Varga Bar in Philly is having a Spooky and Sucking Pig Roast this Saturday from 2PM to 11PM. Flying Fish brews will be flowing whilst the pork-y goodness is carved and served.

Friday: Date Night: Gourmet Delight at Viking Cooking School at Harrah’s Resort, in Atlantic City and Sushi 101 at Kitchen Kapers in Moorestown.

Saturday: Halloween Baking at Sur La Table in Marlton, Southern Italian Classics at Viking Cooking School, Date Night: Tapas Party at Sur La Table in Marlton, and Southern Comfort Food at Kitchen Kapers.

Sunday: Essential Knife Skills at Sur La Table, Tailgating Party at Viking Cooking School, and Kids in the Kitchen: Halloween Fun! at Kitchen Kapers.
