Stores Close As Storm Arrives

Businesses will be greatly impacted as they are forced to shutdown due to poor weather conditions

Strips of stores throughout Lacey were already closed by 1 p.m. Aug. 27 as Lacey Township prepares for Hurricane Irene to strike.

From to the , Lacey’s businesses will be impacted by this storm.

“This is definitely going to be a problem,” said Nishid Parikh, owner of Country Farm on Lacey Road in Forked River.

Parikh will be closing the convenience store early today and is unsure whether he will open tomorrow. He is anticipating being setback approximately one to two weeks.

“As soon as I can open, I’ll open,” he said.

on Lacey Road still had customers but they plan to close soon as well.

“Business is definitely affected,” Betty Lee said.

Business started hurting yesterday as residents were preparing for what’s to come, he said. The nail salon is open seven days a week but will close early today and will not open tomorrow.
