FEMA Representative to Provide Information to Lacey Businesses

A guest speaker at the Lacey Chamber of Commerce's meeting on Wednesday, April 10 will discuss business continuity, preparedness and recovery initiatives

FEMA will have a presence at the Lacey Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m.

With the for FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA), residents and business owners impacted by Superstorm Sandy still have the opportunity to register for disaster assistance.

Kysa George, Private Sector Specialist with FEMA, will be on hand at the meeting to discuss topics including business continuity, preparedness and updates regarding recovery efforts and initiatives.

According to a recent njspotlight.com report, approximately 1,095 businesses in Lacey were impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

The meeting, held at the Captain’s Inn, is open to business professionals. Admission is $18 and includes dinner.

Businesses applying for SBA Economic Injury loans still have until July 31 to apply. The loans are for businesses that did not suffer any physical damage, but lost revenue in Sandy's aftermath.

State and federal officials have urged all residents and businesses affected by the storm, whether it was through flooding, wind damage or loss of business revenue, to register with FEMA and SBA. 

People with storm losses in all counties can register online at www.disasterassistance.gov and via smart phone or tablet here. Survivors also can register by phone or 711/VRS by calling 800-621-3362, TTY800-462-7585.
