Two North Jersey Men Arrested In Waretown After Police Find $10,000 In Cocaine

Approximately 100 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $10,000 were found

Two North Jersey men are facing numerous drug charges after an one-month investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Detectives from the Special Operations Group of the Southern Enforcement unit, the Ocean Township and Stafford Township police departments concluded the investigation on July 8 that culminated in the arrests, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said.

Detectives from the Special Operations Group stopped a white Infiniti near 525 Route 9 in Waretown, occupied by Carlos R. Monterroso, 29, and the driver, Mario Yarleque, Jr., 33. Both men are from Belleville, Coronato said.

When they searched the car, they found approximately 100 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $10,000. Police also recovered a quantity of marijuana that was packaged in several smaller bags consistent with the distribution of marijuana, said Coronato.

Monterroso, 51 Prospect Place, Belleville, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over fifty grams and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Ocean County Superior Court Judge James Blaney set Monterroso's bail at  $150,000, with no ten percent option.

Yarleque,  417 DeWitt Avenue, Belleville, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over fifty grams and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Blaney set his bail at $50,000, with no ten percent option.
