It was slightly out of eye-shot for most beachgoers along the Jersey
Shore on Monday afternoon, but Patch's zoom lens caught up with a Staten
Island Ferry boat as it was being towed off Surf City's beachfront.
massive tug boat pulled the even more massive ferry boat as beachgoers
tried to confirm whether the vessel, with its tell-tale orange paint,
was actually the famous ferry.
Indeed, it was, said a New York
City Department of Transportation spokesman, who told Patch the ferry is
on its way to Virginia for routine dry-docking and maintenance.
