Just days after his former owners entered pleas of abusing him, Sammy is moving on with his life.

According to a Facebook update from the web-savvy cocker spaniel, Sammy has been formally adopted into the home he went to stay at following his release from the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

His post reads: "Dear Friends, I want to share with you the good news of my formal adoption by my Forever Family, the same family I've been with since leaving RBVH. I am very happy, secure knowing that I am very much loved by all in my family, especially my brothers and safe from any harm."

Earlier this week, Keith Morgan entered pleas of guilty to abuse and animal cruelty, and filing a false report with police.

Shauna Morgan entered guilty pleas to two counts of abuse and neglect. A charge of abandonment was dismissed.

The Morgans faced animal cruelty charges in connection with the dog, who was initially thought to be found on the side of the road by Keith on March 14 and brought to the Humane Societies in Tinton Falls. The Morgans were later charged with abuse after an investigation.
