Oct. 27: Behavioral Classes, Medicare Enrollment, Committee Meeting

Events in and around Lacey Township

1. A pilate and yoga class will be offered today at at 8 a.m., all ages and levels welcome. The first class free, and costs just $6.00 plus tax for one class.

2. A free series of six classes named "Basics" for parents of kids who have ADHD, Asperger's, anxiety disorders, OCD, ODD, bipolar disorder, or any other serious mental health challenge will be offered today at 129 N. Main St. in Manahawkin. Besides learning more about the disorders, their treatment and diagnosis, parents will develop more effective skills in the areas of communication, problem-solving, and coping. This course is peer-taught by other parents who "have been there." Basics is a professionally researched and written program. Please note that pre-registration is required, by calling Linda at 732-939-2092.

3. The open enrollment period for the Medicare prescription drug program began October 15. This is the time when new Medicare recipients can enroll in a Part D plan and previous enrollees can change plans if they choose. The Ocean County Office of Senior Services will be available today at the County Connection, located in the Ocean County Mall, to help you select the program that’s best for you.

4. The Lacey Township Recreation Department is sponsoring several Senior Citizen Outings for residents of Lacey Township. The Recreation Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Either stop in to reserve a space on the trips or call the Recreation Office at 609-693-1100 ext. 2203.

5. There is a Township Committee Meeting at the Municipal Building at 7 p.m.
