Nov. 3: Community Song Program, Behavioral Education Classes, Meet A Candidate

Events in and around Lacey Township

1. Pilates and yoga are being offered from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Ultimate Gym & Fitness Center, located at 700 Old Shore Road in Forked River. The first class is free – please bring a mat, no shoes are required. Call 609-693-8659 for more information.

2 Come to America’s Keswick, located at 601 Route 530 in Whiting, at 9:30 a.m. for a Continental breakfast, then enjoy the Community Song, Thanksgiving & Praise program that begins directly afterwards at 10 a.m. A delicious lunch will follow at noon, and the cost is $10 per person. 3. A free series of six classes named "Basics" for parents of kids who have ADHD, Asperger's, anxiety disorders, OCD, ODD, bipolar disorder, or any other serious mental health challenge will be offered today at 6:15 p.m. at 129 N. Main St. in Manahawkin. Besides learning more about the disorders, their treatment and diagnosis, parents will develop more effective skills in the areas of communication, problem-solving, and coping. This course is peer-taught by other parents who "have been there." Basics is a professionally researched and written program. 4. Come out tonight to Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, located at 113 South Main Street in Forked River from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for a meet-and-greet event held by Lacey Township’s Democratic Committee Candidate Gary Vaccaro. Vaccaro will be joined by Committeeman Sean Sharkey and Committeewoman Helen Dela Cruz. Residents are invited to stop by and talk with Vaccaro in advance of Election Day and/or discuss specific township issues with Sharkey and Dela Cruz. All are welcome.

5.  An Al-Anon meeting will be held tonight at 8 p.m. at the Forked River Presbyterian Church; 131 North Main Street in Forked River.
