National Weather Service Issues Severe Weather Warning For Southern Ocean County

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a number of alerts - including flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings today.

The NWS says up to three to four inches of rain are possible from storms racing through the area the Southern Ocean County.

A flash flood warning is in effect until 2:45 p.m. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 10:30 a.m. The NWS cancelled a tornado watch in effect earlier this morning.

The NWS advises residents to seek shelter from the severe storms. Motorists should be vigilant and not attempt to drive through roadways that flood easily, the NWS said.

Sunny and cooler weather is expected for Thursday.
