March 13: House of Hope, Shamrock Festival, Zumbathon, and More

1.    House of Hope is hosting a Spring Flight Makeover Contest from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be fashion expert and a possibility to win a full makeover valued at over $1,000. 2.    Jenkinson’s Aquarium in Point Pleasant Beach is offering a behind the scenes tour for ages five and up from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Sneakers are required. For more information call 732-899-1659.

3.    Ocean County College is having various programs at the Robert J Novins Planetarium: 11:30 a.m., Secret of the Cardboard Rocket, ages 10 & under; 1p.m., Wonders of the Winter Sky, ages 8 & up; and 2:30 p.m., Bad Astronomy: Myths and Misconceptions, ages 10 & up. 4.    There will be a Zumbathon fundraiser at Anytime Fitness in Brick at 12 p.m. to benefit Kelly Walsifer, the fiancé of slain Lakewood police officer Christopher Matlosz. For more information call 732-202-7702.

5.    Laurita Winery in New Egypt is having a Shamrock Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be Irish step dancing, folk and traditional music, and a “Luck of the Irish” drawing every hour.  For more information call 609-758-8000.
