Lacey United Methodist Church Hosting Holiday Dinner Today

The evening will feature a meal, entertainment and a visit from former New England Patriot Jarvis Green

In an ongoing effort to alleviate the effects of Superstorm Sandy, The Lacey United Methodist Church is hosting a holiday dinner Wednesday at 6 p.m.

ShopRite has teamed up with former New England Patriot, Jarvis Green and the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties to bring a warm meal to Ocean County residents.

The evening will feature a meal, entertainment and a visit from Green.

ShopRite has donated all the fixings of a holiday meal to complement the 5,000 pounds of shrimp donated by Green, whose hometown of New Orleans was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Chef Ray of The FoodBank will cook the meal while ShopRite and FoodBank volunteers will help serve.

The Lacey United Methodist Church is located at 203 Lacey Road in Forked River.
